Yesterday was day two of my intermittent fasting. It was hard at night because I got one of my favorite chocolates, Lindt Orange Intense. It’s got two things I love the most: chocolate and orange.
But by the time I had a chance to sit down and enjoy it, it was past 9 pm. I was bummed but I put it away and will definitely eat it today lol.
I made my eating window from 12 pm-9 pm. So I’m doing a 15:9 fast. I know someone people who jumped right into one meal a day. Others took a week or two and went from 16:8 to 20:4. I’m not one of them and that is ok.
I’m going to slowly cut back my eating window because that is how I work. When I take big erratic steps, it’s not sustainable and I quickly give up. So this week, I eat from 12-9 pm and next Monday, I will do a 12-8 pm fast.
There is so much I want to share about fasting, not just the health benefits but it’s origins in Islam. I’m also going to talk about insulin resistance, autophagy and some bipolar meds and how they can be tamed with fasting. I also recorded my weight and will reweigh myself next Monday. See you tomorrow when I share how my day 3 went!
